Founder Misha, having lived in Mexico in her 20’s, had extensive experience working with small scaled artisans and fell in love with Indigenous textiles and their ancient craft of weaving.
Misha’s desire to create a refined aesthetic for the coveted ‘Sombreros’ transpired into her love of collaborating with Indigenous communities in remote areas.
The iconic shaped hats are created from fibres of toquilla straw harvested from the palm found in Latin America and dyes using traditional natural ancient techniques. This straw is also known as Panama Straw.
Inca hearts design is dreamed in Australia where protection from the sun is vital, the widened brims provide extra protection.
